Raw footage of Sounders’ MLS Cup celebration is pure joy

Just go ahead and mainline this stuff.

You’ve probably seen plenty of footage of the Seattle Sounders celebrating their first-ever MLS Cup. But based on the number of views this video has — as of this writing it’s less than 200 — you’ve not seen what might be the best of the on-field stuff.

The first thing you notice when Roman Torres’ penalty hits the back of the net is Alvaro Fernandez falling to the ground in a heap of tears. Fernandez’s penalty had been saved.

The quick pan to the Sounders’ supporter section shows the 1,000 or so fans there going absolutely mental before going back to the field just in time to see Torres running down the sideline followed by his teammates, including a bare-chested Brad Evans. The highlight of this whole reel may be Joevin Jones over-running the scrum and falling over.

It closes with Nicolas Lodeiro, Chad Marshall and Evans taking turns facing the fans and showing their appreciation.
