Stefan Frei gets 8-bit treatment

There have been almost countless odes to Stefan Frei’s save that allowed the Seattle Sounders to win their first-ever MLS Cup. But we’ve yet to see what it would have looked like if it were played on the original Nintendo (or similar generation game console) until now:

8bit-Football, in case you didn’t know, has been making pixelated pictures of some of soccer’s greatest moments for a few years. It’s too early to know just how famous of a moment Frei’s save will ultimately end up being, but it certainly has a place in our hearts.
