The 2017 season will kick off with the MLS combine in Los Angeles January 7th - 12th; here is a list of the invitees. The "MLS Superdraft" will take place January 13th,  where the Seattle Sounders hope their two picks in the first round (16 & 22) will net them a regular contributor to the team.

Soccer in Washington State had a banner year in 2016. Help pick the top 3 "Biggest Stories of the Year".

What does a player do to remember they had a big part in winning a Championship for Seattle? If you're Roman Torres you engrave a picture of yourself on your body!

It used to be "E.T. phone home", but now if you're a Seattle Sounders fan then you know it's "Lodeiro phones home". The Seattle playmaker is number 8 on Major League Soccer's  "Top 10 Moments of the Season". There are a few other Sounders on the list!

U.S. Soccer

Goal USA has asked "Who was the most influential person in American soccer in 2016?" FYI, there is a guy in green involved.

Looking to the past is what Bruce Arena intends to do in 2017. Arena's band-aid solution, it seems, is to go back in time and call up 34-year-old DaMarcus Beasley. That was the same option Klinsmann went with at the 2014 World Cup.

World Soccer

American Bob Bradley has been given the sack at Swansea City. Alan Curtis, the first-team coach, and Paul Williams, the assistant manager, have been placed in charge on a temporary basis as the club look for a "permanent" replacement. Could we see Bradley as the new LAFC coach come 2018?

Serious sacrifice, little money, and a bucketful of hope is what 45% of professional soccer player around the world work with. Those 45% earn less than a $1,000 per month on the average.

Betting on baseball got "Mr. Baseball" Pete Rose banned for life from baseball. Could the same thing happen to Joey Barton for betting on soccer 1,260 times?

Scoring a goal is always a special occasion, but for Brighton winger Anthony Knockaert his goal on Tuesday took on a special meaning.

Errors by the pilot, airline and Bolivian regulators are being blamed for the plane crash in Colombia that killed 71 people last month, including most of Brazil's Chapecoense soccer team.

Major League Soccer

A long-time stalwart of the Real Salt Lake midfield has found a new home. 36 year old free agent Javier Morales will now be pulling the strings for FC Dallas while Mauro Diaz continues to recover from his injury.

Dallas isn't stopping at on-field changes - they're also upgrading the suites at Toyota Stadium.

Orlando City president Phil Rawlins has announced he is stepping down from day-to-day operations of the club, with team CEO Alex Leitao to assume operational duties.

Construction of Los Angeles Football Club’s Banc of California Stadium is underway, and, if everything goes well, it should be ready to occupy and view games in by 2018.

Goals of the Week: Scorpion, Volley, and a Bender!
