The banter has started between the city of Toronto and Seattle prior to the MLS Cup on Saturday, December 10th (5:00 PM PST). Toronto Mayor John Tory in a press conference today bet Seattle Mayor Ed Murray some “real beer” Amsterdam beer and Tim Horton’s coffee.
If there’s a few things in Seattle that we do right, it is coffee, beer, and Sounders FC. For instance: Amsterdam beer is good, but Seattle beer is better (duh). And about the coffee - Seattle is one of the world’s greatest coffee cities, don’t really know what kind of stuff Toronto is drinking.
Mayor Ed Murray, Sounders golden scarf receiver, is quite confident the Sounders will win, and in return bet much Seattle’s better versions of these things: Starbucks coffee and some Reuben’s beer just for fun.
Looking forward to @SoundersFC defeating @torontofc in #MLSCup. It's on @JohnTory, betting you @Starbucks & @Reubensbrews #ScarvesUp pic.twitter.com/1Aj2U1GYuL

Whichever city hoists the coveted MLS Cup (Seattle, knock on wood), there is sure to be some coffee and beer bragging rights as well. Cheers!
