There's no indication that Román Torres is ahead of schedule on recovery from his torn left ACL, but by all appearances he's at least progressing at a good clip. Torres has traveled with the team to both Tucson, Ariz. and Southern California and the latest step forward was his first training session with cleats.
Después de 4 meses, alegría por volver a ponerme unos tacos, agradecido con Dios, sigo trabajando fuerte, feliz día. pic.twitter.com/LBXchY761R— Román Torres (@romantorres05) February 15, 2016
Loosely translated, this reads: "After four months, I'm happy to be able to wear boots. Grateful to god, still working hard, happy day."
Torres tore his left ACL on Sept. 12 when he landed awkwardly while going up for a header. He had surgery shortly thereafter and was given a roughly six- to nine-month recovery window. That would put him returning no earlier than May and more likely sometime this summer.
