The 2016 Seattle Sounders primary and alternate kits will be unveiled on the club's new mobile app Wednesday, and they go on sale two days later at the CenturyLink Field Pro Shop, the club has announced. The team will also be hosting a large 2016 Kickoff event in Queen Anne after the Club America match where fans will have a chance to meet players and coaches.

The new, redesigned Sounders mobile app launches Tuesday for iOS, Windows phone, and Android devices. The team has created several incentives for fans to hit that download button. First is the 'digital launch' of the 2016 jerseys, which will first be unveiled exclusively in the app. Sounders players will be on hand at the Pro Shop at 6:00 p.m. Friday to do some more traditional jersey-modeling.

You'll also need the app to purchase tickets (through MatchPass rewards) to that Wednesday, Feb. 24 Kickoff event, which will be held at the Queen Anne Beerhall. Radio play-by-play announcer Matt Johnson will get his first shot at hosting such an event, and he'll be the go-to MC going forward as well. Tickets should be available Tuesday when the app launches, and proceeds from the tickets go to charities.

The Sounders also announced that Director of Community Outreach Roger Levesque is leading a collaboration with the Seattle International Foundation to do community service work in both Mexico City and in Seattle in conjunction with the CONCACAF Champions League matchup between the two cities' teams. The efforts will be focused on youth homelessness in each region. Gonzalo Pineda will be joining the events in Mexico City, and fans can enter to win the opportunity to join the group in Mexico City during the away leg.
