Sounders reveal 2016 kits: Blue is the new black

Users of the new Seattle Sounders FC app can dive into the video section to see a 66-second reveal of the new kits. The full ceremonial reveal is on Friday night at the CenturyLink Field ProShop. The main takeaway: Blue is back.

The new primary kit will feature Rave Green with Sounders Blue as the accent color, shorts color and sleeve color. The third kit goes full blue, so when you want to be more formal you will have something to wear.

Featuring a deep blue the third kit is not a flat color, but instead has cyan highlights, almost like the tops of waves on the top of a sound. Shorts for the third are cyan as well, but with shale as the accent color rather than the deep blue.

Both the primary and third kits have the Seattle city crest on the jock tag.

They also each feature the new adidas look with the three stripes along the side of the body rather than the shoulder.

Rave Green dominates the primary top, but there is texture in them. A fish-hook S appears under close inspection, but you cannot see it from a distance.

Sky of Blue, Sea of Green is along the collar.
