Friday's 6 p.m. event at the CenturyLink Pro Shop will be the first chance for fans to buy the just-unveiled 2016 Sounders kits. The first 500 who do will get a pretty sweet gift along with their fresh gear: a custom adidas t-shirt designed by none other than the Sounders starting keeper and resident artist, Stefan Frei. No word on what the shirt will look like yet, but based on his past work we're looking forward to seeing it.
Stefan Frei is a creative gentleman. Most recently we've seen him using his own body as a canvas, and in 2015 he designed/created one of the Posters by the People for the June 20 match against San Jose. You would guess it's pretty rare for a player on a team to cross over and contribute on the art and design side in any official capacity, and it's cool that the Sounders seem willing to leverage both of Frei's skills and give him the opportunity for some creative expression.
