The Sounders had a pretty good performance yesterday in their 4-0 drubbing of the LA GAlaxy. We have our recap up of this final preseason friendly.

Former Sounder Obafemi Martins has arrived in Shanghai Shenhua's training camp.

Minnesota United has one of the best brands in the NASL, but it is looking more and more likely that they will have to leave some of it behind as they move to MLS. With the addition of Atlanta United, MLS just thinks that we can't afford a 3rd United in the league.

With the loss of the Rams, St. Louis became an immediate front-runner for future MLS expansion. It seems that they are already well on their way to getting an ownership group together.

They aren't quite on the top of the MLS expansion list, but Detroit City is also showing it's ambitions with a pledge of almost $750k for stadium renovations.

Our friends over at Chicago Fire blog Hot Time In Old Town aren't happy with surprising trade of Harry Shipp to the Montreal Impact, they go as far as framing it as the latest step in a calculated "institutional lobotomy".

Obafemi Martins may not be the only Cascadian on his way to China. Rumor has it that Darren Mattocks of the Vancouver Whitecaps may soon be joining him.

The Columbus Crew have solved one of their major local issues by signing a new TV contract.  Their previous deal had them broadcast locally on a Time Warner sports channel that was not available to anyone with a competing TV provider. They will now be broadcast over the air instead.

Dynamo Theory would like to remind you that the preseason is almost over and it's time for supporters to start to work on their fitness levels. In addition to their suggestions I would also recommend spending at least 90 minutes today continuously holding a pint in one hand.

It's still not clear exactly what will happen with Jermaine Jones, but it would definitely be a disappointment to New England Revolution fans to lose him and gain nothing in return.

Steven Gerrard is continuing to revel in his relative anonymity in and around Los Angeles. This is something that he presumably was enjoying yesterday.

We all know that the best new kits in MLS were unveiled yesterday, but the Houston Dynamo revealed a new kit as well.

DC United has obtained 25-year-old midfielder Rob Vincent from the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL.

Does Chicago needs a second soccer team? No, probably not. They should probably concentrate on getting a first soccer team into the actual city.

The Copa America group draw is set for Sunday and the pots have been announced.

US Soccer has a bit of a balancing act to perform with Olympic and World Cup qualifiers both coming up. The biggest challenge is for the U-23 team attempting to qualify for the Olympics.

Fabian Johnson has been seeing regular time as a left winger in the Bundesliga, but Jurgen Klinnsman is keeping his options open and won't commit to him holding that position for the US Men.

FIFA will vote for a new president on February 26th. I am sure that everything will be done in a totally transparent and trustworthy way, but others are a bit more cynical.

Zlatan may be the only player that gets two jerseys back in exchange for swapping his own.
