Where to watch Sounders vs. Club América leg 2

New, 65 comments

Many of you won't get the english broadcast of the match on your TV, so here are some options for joining your fellow fans at a viewing party.

Sure, Club América is stacked with stars and comfortable at home in their storied stadium. But they also can't seem to stop the flow of red cards or goals conceded at Estadio Azteca. So where will you be when Seattle Sounders FC pull off the improbable and eliminate this top Mexican side from CONCACAF Champions League?

Don't let the answer to that questions be: "Mashing buttons on the remote and calling my cable company, only to realize I don't get that channel." The Wednesday evening match will be carried on Univision Deportes (en español) and FOX Sports 2 in the US (and SportsNet World in Canada) starting at 5:00 p.m. Some cable subscribers get UDN, but if you don't (or you prefer to watch the english-language broadcast), we suggest attending a viewing party and enjoying the action with a few friends in green.

Here are a few alternatives to yelling at your TV or laptop screen:

Sounder at Heart's viewing party:

Of course we'd love to see you at our own watch party, where you can put some faces to the names you read on the internet and take it all in with some familiar fellow fans. Our event is all ages, admission is free, and the location is the family-friendly Queen Anne Beer Hall. Yes, that's the same spot where the Sounders were pouring beer for fans last week. You'll have to settle for the normal bartenders, but they're probably faster anyway. Find more details here, and please RSVP.

Sounders viewing party at The NINETY:

If you want to get a bit more official, the team is hosting a screening at their Pioneer Square event space. The bonus here is that you can watch/listen as Matt Johnson and Kasey Keller call the match live at the party. Doors open at 4 p.m., food, beer and wine will be available, and you'll even get a free raffle ticket to win Sounders stuff if you go. More details from the Sounders site.

Gorilla FC viewing party:

The supporters group is throwing its own bash at Big Al Brewing, where you can take in the match and a pint of Civ's Straight Red. If you're a GFC member and need to pick up your 2016 kit, this is where you should be. Details can be found on the group's facebook page.

Eastside Supporters viewing parity

If you're over on the Eastside, never fear, Eastside Supporters have you covered. They'll be getting together at Tavern Hall in Bellevue Square.

253 Defiance viewing party

In Tacoma they'll be gathering at the ECS subgroup's clubhouse for a private viewing, BBQ and tifo party. Bet they'd love to have you.

Your local Sounders bar:

If none of these options appeal to you, you're still in luck, especially if you live anywhere near Seattle. There's no shortage of watering holes that will have this match on their biggest TVs Wednesday night. If you need help finding one, start in the comments below. The George & Dragon has even scheduled to replay the match at 9 p.m. for those who can't make it in earlier.

How will you be watching? Let us know and hopefully we'll see you on Wednesday.
