Based on the group that traveled, the Seattle Sounders are going into Estadio Azteca prepared to give it their best shot. Among those present at Tuesday's open training session were all 11 starters from last week's first leg against Club America as well as just about every other key player.
Here's the full list of players at training according to photographer Max Aquino: Jordan Morris, Clint Dempsey, Nelson Valdez, Darwin Jones, Joevin Jones, Osvaldo Alonso, Dylan Remick, Aaron Kovar, Tyler Miller, Charlie Lyon, Andreas Ivanschitz, Tyrone Mears, Brad Evans, Chad Marshall, Oneil Fisher, Stefan Frei, Erik Friberg, Oalex Anderson, Zach Scott, Cristian Roldan and Nathan Sturgis.
Perhaps the biggest surprise among that group is Oalex Anderson, whose signing was only officially announced on Tuesday. Although he's never before played a club game at anything like this level, Anderson would give the Sounders another speedy option off the bench.
There had been some fear that the Sounders would bring a more depleted version of their team in order to better prepare for Sunday's MLS regular-season opener against Sporting Kansas City.
