Replay confirms Whitecaps got very lucky on penalty

The Seattle Sounders have found themselves in an early hole despite a strong start. After doing little else other than absorbing pressure for the first nine minutes of the match, the Vancouver Whitecaps were effectively gifted a penalty when Joevin Jones and Christian Bolanos got their feet tangled.

Replays confirmed that there was little, if any contact, but referee Mark Geiger immediately pointed to the spot.

Pedro Morales buried the penalty, giving the Whitecaps a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute.
