This one was painful for Sounders fans, and it's been a woeful start to the season. Still, there's no question that nearly every bit of injury or referee luck has gone against Seattle so far. Despite an overall solid defense, the home team gave up two penalties. Despite having two high-level matches before the MLS season started, the offense hasn't clicked yet. Goals have mostly come from the magical free kicks of Clint Dempsey and Andreas Ivanschitz.
Stefan Frei returned to the starting lineup, with Cristian Roldan playing the full 90 to replace the injured Erik Friberg. How did they do in their starts? How much do you blame Joevin Jones and Chad Marshall for the penalty calls, and how much do you blame Mark Geiger?
Here's the scale:
Blank - player did not play enough to judge their performance
1 - not a pro (USL/NASL/MLS) quality performance
4 - average USL starter
6 - average MLS starter
9 - MLS All Star
10 - MLS MVP-quality performance
