Herculez Gomez spent most of last week getting reacquainted with Seattle and training with the Sounders. Among his activities were paying a visit to the Starbucks Roastery and took in the March to the Match, while also scoring a pair of goals for S2 in a scrimmage against Gonzaga. Apparently, it was all enough for him to come back for a second stint.
Although Gomez left for Toronto on Sunday, the Sounders confirmed he'll be back in time for training on Wednesday.
The Sounders have not said whether or not they intend to sign Gomez, but it certainly looks to be headed in that direction. Gomez is looking for a team after being waived by Toronto FC before the season started and the Sounders could really use a veteran offensive player off the bench.
So far, those minutes have been mostly going to Darwin Jones, Aaron Kovar and Oalex Anderson. While the trio have all shown decent amounts of promise, they haven't been able to help the Sounders score a goal yet.
