Emerald City Supporters are known for their multi-parted tifo, and Sunday's display was no different. The "Poltergeist" tifo consisted of three main elements: the cards, the banner and the little girl. You can watch it all unfold here:
A little more about the display from ECS's website:
Tonight's display has a simple message, "We're Back." While simple, there are multiple ways to interpret what that means. It's the start of the 2016 campaign, a chance to renew the chase for the elusive MLS Cup. After the disappointing finish to yet another promising year in 2015, many supporters of the Rave Green were dejected, lost, and hurting. The first match of a new season has a certain magic to it. It has the ability to heal those wounds, a chance for new beginnings.
The curtain element was 100-feet wide, there were 2,500 individual cards and the little girl was 35-feet tall. Although it was hard to appreciate from afar, 70 ECS members helped paint hair, slipper and shadow details onto the girl using methods they'd never used before.
