Late May could see the Seattle Sounders without three of their best players. The preliminary Copa America roster for the United States includes Jordan Morris, Clint Dempsey and Brad Evans. Though Seattle avoided most international dates Jurgen Klinsmann is opening training camp on May 16th with the final 23-man roster announced on May 20th.

If the three Sounders make the final cut there will be friendlies at Puerto Rico (May 22nd), against Ecuador (May 25th) and against Bolivia (May 28th). The Americans open the Copa America on June 3rd against Colombia. That could mean that Seattle's top two attacking threats and their captain miss three games prior to the centennial tournament. MLS shuts down during the Group Stage of the Copa.

Twenty total MLS players made the 40-man roster with Real Salt Lake, Toronto FC, Sporting Kansas City, and Colorado Rapids (kinda due to Tim Howard) all losing two players. Seattle is the only club to lose three players.Players that do not make the 40-man will probably miss just one game due to travel and Klinsmann's notorious fitness regime.

Former Seattle Sounder DeAndre Yedlin also made the squad.

Nelson Haedo Valdez is on the Paraguay preliminary team.
