The Seattle Sounders find themselves trailing early after Chad Marshall was whistled for a penalty and Mauro Diaz converted. It wasn't exactly an egregious penalty, but Marshall made it tough on himself by grabbing Walker Zimmerman in plain view of referee Ricardo Salazar.
In a vacuum, it's the kind of penalty that is probably going to get called more often than it won't. But you'll excuse if this is getting a little frustrating. The Sounders have now surrendered five penalties in less than 10 games, a pace that would leave them with a whopping 17 conceded over the course of a 34-game season.
