Europa League Final

Basel, Switzerland was relatively quiet on Tuesday night, but tonight it will be electric as Liverpool and Sevilla battle for the Europa League trophy. Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has been in finals before, four to be exact and Klopp stresses none of that matters Wednesday night.

Sevilla play Liverpool in the Europa League final seeking their third title in a row, their fifth in a decade. Four days later they play Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final. Fourteen finals in 10 years while making the profit their model demands. The architect of their unprecedented era of glory is their sporting director Monchi.

History will be made in the final and it won't be by either team. UEFA will deploy goal line technology for the first time in a European competition.

The majority owner of Orlando City of Major League Soccer, is asking investors from Brazil, China and elsewhere to pay $500,000 each for a stake in the stadium he is building near downtown Orlando. Is Jozy Altidore damaged goods or does he have a case of the unfortunates? Altidore seems to come up lame at the most unfortunate time for the USMNT and his club team. Maybe a move to Seattle then Dave Tenney could fix it?
