Chad Marshall will miss his first game of the season after suffering a right hamstring strain in training this week. In his place will be Zach Scott, who will get his fourth start of the season. We'll also see Clint Dempsey and Erik Friberg in the midfield together for the first time this season.
Although the lineup is listed as a 4-3-3, with Aaron Kovar and Andreas Ivanschitz in the forward band it will more likely play like a 4-2-3-1 or possibly even a 4-4-2 with Dempsey effectively slotting in as a withdrawn striker.
And the illustrious bench: Miller, Fisher, Remick, Alfaro, Roldan, Anderson, Gomez— Sounders Matchday (@LIVESounders) May 22, 2016
Herculez Gome had started the previous four games, but his effectiveness had seemed to wane with each successive start. Last week, he was pulled after just 66 minutes.
