MLS Weekend, How to Watch MLS in Week 13. TV and Streaming Listings

The last full weekend of MLS matches before Copa America feature two surprising conference leaders matching up in Chester. Three Big Storylines, TV and Streaming Listings and From a Sounders Point of View. Here is your Week 13 MLS Gamethread

Lampard subbed on in the 75th minute with NYCFC down 5-0 to NYRB last weekend, the game ended 7-0.

Three Big Storylines:

  1. Sporting Kansas City only have five points from their last nine played, they have been struggling mightily after winning their first three matches and four of five to start the season.  Without Matt Besler and Graham Zusi who are with the USMNT for Copa America, Sporting KC will hope to right the ship against a D.C. United team who have struggled on the road this year.  Lamar Neagle has played well for D.C. United and should feature in the attack on Friday night. This match is delayed to 6:30 PM Pacific as United had extraordinary difficulty flying to KC.
  2. With MLS taking two weeks off for Copa America this is the last full weekend of league games until June 18th.  There is a six game midweek slate before the Copa America kickoff, but this is the last weekend before the break.  Going into this weekend the Colorado Rapids lead the Supporters' Shield while the Philadelphia Union lead the Eastern Conference.  It's safe to say MLS is still unpredictable, no one anticipated Saturday's game when the Union host the Rapids to be between conference leaders.
  3. New York City FC returns to National TV on Sunday (see below) after their disaster last weekend when they lost at home to cross town rival New York Red Bulls by the joint worst score in MLS history, 7-0.  NYCFC host Orlando City who played midweek against the Philadelphia Union to a 2-2 draw in the Citrus Bowl.  Look for David Villa to rebound from the quiet game he had against NYRB last weekend.

From a Sounders Point of View:

Three points, all we need are a Memorial Day Weekend three points in New England.

D.C. United could extend Sporting KC's run of bad form on Friday Night MLS on Univision.  While the Houston Dynamo have agreed to "mutually part ways" with Owen Coyle on Wednesday night it might be nice to look for a temporary bump as they play the Vancouver Whitecaps in Vancouver on Saturday (3 PM, MLS Live).

The Portland Timbers travel to Chicago where Sounders fans are now Chicago Fire fans.  Lastly, the LA Galaxy are in Montreal, go le Impact.
