Fredy Montero is on another one of his patented hot streaks. The former Seattle Sounders forward scored a brace in Tianjin Teda's most recent match, giving him four in his past five games.
Neither of the goals were especially pretty, but Montero showed a striker's instinct in getting on the end of a pair of left-footed efforts and finishing confidently both times. The first goal came from a cross that went through the penalty area, with Montero able to put it away from a tight angle inside the far post. The second was a bit easier, as he first-timed a rebound that caromed off the post.
The win pushed Tianjin into seventh place in the CSL table, equal on points with Obafemi Martins' Shanghai Shenua. Martins has not yet scored his first CSL goal in six appearances, having logged just 125 minutes and still without a start.
