Will they or won't they? With the transfer deadline closing now in less than a week, that is the big question for the Seattle Sounders.

Orlando City has suffered another setback with forward Pedro Ribeiro set to miss 'a few months' due to an unspecified back surgery.

The Vancouver Whitecaps will suffer a smaller setback of their own after Kekuta Manneh was suspended for one match by the disciplinary committee. He will miss the Vancouver-Portland Cascadia clash.

Giovanni Dos Santos wasn't suspended, but he was fined $250. He may see that number increase in response to publicly posting the official fine notice from MLS.

DC United is continue to progress towards getting their new stadium with demolition now taking place on the site. One of the open questions is what the designers can do to appease those who have criticized the planned prison motif.

The Sounders aren't the only MLS side to be involved in last-minute trade rumors. The New York Red Bulls are being tied to Polish centerback Marcin Kaminski.

DC United finds themselves on the other side of a trade rumor with European interest in Steve Birnbaum being reported.

The NASL is showing early signs of struggles this season. Their opening day attendance was down 37 percent over last year.

Copa America

In a completely inexplicable decision, Mark Geiger has been selected to work in the Copa America (Portuguese). I suppose that one could argue that he well represents the state of US soccer refereeing.

The Copa America is still a month out, but there are already questions about future tournaments. The idea of a regular tournament involving both CONCACAF and CONMEBOL certainly has its appeal.

Abby Wambach is the latest former player to make the move to broadcasting. The recently retired icon will be joining ESPN as an analyst and general pundit.

Cristiano Ronaldo may be one of the biggest names in world sports, but it seems that he still just wants to be like Mike.
