Three Big Storylines:
- After starting the season with a lackluster slate of games on Viernes de Fútbol, UniMas has a good game this Friday. Orlando City will have Kaka back in the starting lineup and they host a New York Red Bulls side that is coming in off two straight wins, including a 4-0 demolition of FC Dallas last Friday in this same space.
- Toronto FC have completed their epic eight game road trip to open the season and return home to a remodeled BMO Field with 11 points and a 3-3-2 (W-L-D) record on the road when they host FC Dallas (Saturday, 4:30 PM, MLS Live). BMO Field will now have over 30,000 capacity for MLS and a roof covering all the permanent seats in the stadium. Saturday's game is sold out.
- Cascadia action resumes on Saturday as the Vancouver Whitecaps host the Portland Timbers (Saturday, 2:00 PM, MLS Live; Root Sports Replay at 7:30 PM in the Northwest) in a clash that sees both teams below the red line. Portland's Fanendo Adi is the joint leading scorer in MLS, tied on seven goals with Chris Wondolowski.
From a Sounders Point of View:
A draw in Cascadia would be nice for both Cascadia Cup implications and red line aspirations.
From the "Once a Sounder" point of view, DeAndre Yedlin and Sunderland host Chelsea on Saturday (7 AM, USA Network). Sunderland are 18th in the league but only one point behind Newcastle for the last safe spot above the relegation zone. Sunderland have three games to play, Newcastle have two to play and host Aston Villa on Saturday (7 AM, NBC Sports Network).
