Today at 3:00 p.m. PT, Seattle Reign FC (3-3-2) face off against Sky Blue FC (2-3-3), a team that foiled their record-setting home undefeated streak to kick off the 2016 season.
After a somewhat rocky start to the year, which has Seattle currently in sixth place, the Reign come into the match on the rise. Jess Fishlock is back from injury, and the team looked a lot more dominating against the Houston Dash last week. Sky Blue, meanwhile, seems to have plateaued. The team shows signs of attacking promise, but has struggled defensively.
Kim Little enters the contest having scored 29 times in her NWSL career, one shy of becoming the first player in league history to score 30 goals. She's already the league leader in this category.
If Seattle wins today, the team will move into fifth place at the halfway point in the season, putting them in a much stronger spot to make a run for the playoffs over the next few months.
Lineups
Seattle sticks with the same lineup that saw them get 3 points against the Houston Dash, while Sky Blue deploys a 4-4-2 lineup, with the hopes of disrupting Seattle's midfield.
