Major Link Soccer: Copa America Finals Set

Copa America goes into reruns, MLS is back in action, and Aurelien Collin sees red.

In case you missed your opportunity to see soccer related fish throwing, you can now see sports pundit Andrea Feczko do it in an attempt to explain Seattle Soccer.

A Roland Alberg hat trick helped the Philadelphia Union hold on for a 4-3 victory against the Chicago Fire last night.

Real Salt Lake also won at home with a 87th minute goal completed their 2 - 1 comeback vs. the New York Red Bulls. The match also included a 90th minute red card for Aurelien Collin after he held João Plata in a headlock and then proceeded to recklessly taking him out from behind after the whistle was blown.  For some reason this seems to have been seen as controversial.

Lastly, the Colorado Rapids and the LA Galaxy had a combined total of 26 shots in their scoreless draw in Carson.

Canadian Championship

The first leg of the Canadian Championship final was played on Tuesday in Toronto and the home side managed to secure a 1-0 lead to take them to the second leg next week in Vancouver.

Copa America

Is it a sign that a tournament has gone on too long when it starts getting into reruns?

After significant weather delays, the Copa America finals were officially decided with Colombia's 2-0 loss to Chile.

As a result, both the final and 3rd place match will be rematches from the start of the tournament. The final will be between Chile and Argentina.

The third place match will be a replay of the tournament opener where the USMNT will hope for a different ending vs. Colombia.

Soccer fans can either argue the US getting so far in the tournament is a sign of progress, or they can blame Jurgen Klinnsman's questionable decisions for not taking us further.

One of the winners of Copa America will surely be Univision. According to Bloomberg, they have already sold double the amount in advertising that they spent to secure the broadcast rights.

In what must be one of those unwritten laws of the game, an amateur player in Sweden saw himself ejected after suffering some gastrointestinal distress.
