Panamá (FIFA Rank 52) v Bolivia (79)

Blas Pérez is still Panama's most important attacking force.  Yes, that Blas Pérez.  It's safe to say there will be a lot of MLS fans cheering for Bolivia in this game.  Panama generally follow Pérez's lead and are just a pain to play against as they make up for pure talent with hustle and a healthy employment of the tactical foul.  Panama has included 18 year old Porto-B player Ismael Díaz in their squad, it will be curious to see how much playing time the youngster earns.

Bolivia were blanked 4-0 by the USMNT in their final Copa America warm-up match and they enter the tournament as the lowest ranked FIFA team.  Expectations are not high, so any point they earn will be a boon.

Argentina (1) v Chile (3)

By definition almost the best game in FIFA rankings history.  If only Chile (1353.34) could have made up the 11.07 ranking points on Belgium (1364.41) then it would have been.  Instead we have a rematch of last year's Copa America Final as the opener to Group D.

Argentina boast the deepest attacking talent in the world headlined by Sergio Aguero, Gonzalo Higuain, Angel Di Maria and Lionel Messi.  Surprisingly, Argentina has not won a major tournament since Copa America 1993 finishing as runners up in both the 2014 World Cup and 2015 Copa America.  The lack of a major tournament title is the only blemish on Messi's otherwise pristine resume.  Coming is as tournament favorites, Argentina might feel the weight of expectations and will be looking to get off to a fast start and also avenge their defeat to Chile in penalties in the Copa America 2015 Final.

Chile are one of the teams not exactly thrilled with the timing of Copa America Centenario.  It's not that they have a bunch of injuries or are experiencing a dip in the talent pool, they are both healthy and talented.  It's the fact that this talented generation led by Alexis Sánchez and Arturo Vidal finally broke through and won Copa America in 2015 and they are not keen to run it back so soon.  Popular manager Jorge Sampaoli resigned in January over a dispute with the head of the Chilean FA and was replaced with Juan Antonio Pizzi who will immediately start hearing the comparisons to his predecessor if his team does not win and win with style.
