Breaks have been hard to come by for the Seattle Sounders so far this year. But fresh off a gutted-out penalty shootout win over Real Salt Lake in the U.S. Open Cup, the tides may be changing. On Saturday, the Sounders will face a severely depleted Toronto FC where the bad news just keeps coming.

News of Michael Bradley’s injury comes directly on the heels of Will Johnson breaking his leg while scoring the Voyaguers’ Cup-clinching goal on Tuesday. Johnson will also be out six weeks. They join the likes of fellow starters Jozy Altidore (hamstring) and Clint Irwin (quad), who are also out this week.

Just to make matters a bit worse for TFC, Sebastian Giovinco was just one of the handful of others starters who played 90 minutes in the midweek match against the Vancouver Whitecaps as well as the 3-2 loss to Orlando City last Saturday.

The Sounders are, of course, in the midst of some awful form and traveling across the country. But opportunities to snatch road points don’t get much better than this.
