Major Link Soccer: Where does NWSL go from here?

Hope Solo and others weigh in on what needs to change. The Railhawks bring in an aging Mexican star. Can you tell the difference between the names of Pokemon and Brazilian stadiums?

Major League Soccer

RSL Soapbox is back again as always with the aggregate power rankings, and we have no choice but to look at it. The Sounders hold on to that coveted 18th spot for the third week in a row (but hey, they just creamed the team at #1, they'll always have that).

Ilsinho of the Philadelphia Union took SB Nation's MLS player of the week after his excellent performance against DC United. He could be poised for a good second half of the season after a slow start.

As much as we may hate to admit it, Bruce Arena and the LA Galaxy usually have found a way to surge in the second half of the season and come into the playoffs in good form. This year, FourFourTwo predicts more of the same, while raising the caveat that LA is really old this time, not just old.

So Pokemon Go is a pretty massive phenomenon, sweeping the app gaming world. Here's a quick quiz from The Mane Land for Pokemon fans and soccer fans to see how their knowledge of each matches up: Brazilian Soccer Stadium or Pokemon?

Seattle + NWSL

In case you missed it, Hope Solo reacted on her blog with disappointment and damning photos of the inappropriate facilities and equipment provided for the recent Seattle Reign NWSL match at WNY Flash. Stars and Stripes FC covers the post in more detail here.

For an excellent, detailed breakdown of NWSL's successes and failures and a look ahead to what's next for the 4-year-old league, Excelle Sports has Part 1 of their story "NWSL 2.0."

Mexican star Omar Bravo has signed with NASL's Carolina Railhawks at 36. He has over 60 caps for Mexico's national team.
