Sigi Schmid will bid public farewell to Sounders fans

Former Sounders coach meeting with fans at Fuel.

all in tifo

Sigi Schmid, for all his perceived faults, was never shy about wearing his heart on his sleeve. On more than one occasion, he teared up in postgame press conferences. His love not only for the Seattle Sounders, but the fans, was never in doubt.

So it probably makes sense that he’ll be bidding them farewell in person. The event will be held at Fuel sports bar on Thursday at 6 p.m. You can RSVP here and it’s apparently all ages.

Sigi Schmid requested an opportunity to say goodbye to ECS, who he described as ''tremendous fans who have always been supportive through good times and bad."

Whether you're #SigiIn or #SigiOut, you can't ignore the fact that he took our Sounders to 7 consecutive playoffs, 4 US Open Cup victories and the 2014 Supporters' Shield.

Please join us for a special opportunity to thank Coach Schmid and wish him well in his future endeavors.
