Five winless matches, a USL response to Robbie Rogers, and DeAndre Yedlin keeps earning money for Seattle

I don't have any links relating to Lodeiro today, but his picture makes me happy.

Seattle

DeAndre's move to Newcastle is official, but there is plenty of analysis still left of if the move to division 2 is a good move for him.

In case you missed it yesterday, rumor is that Seattle may be seeing a share of the transfer fee. Notably, this is not due to solidarity payments, which are sure to come up again.

MLS Scores

Including the Sounders, there were seven matches involving MLS teams last night. Five of those matches resulted in draws.

Toronto FC took the first victory of the night over Orlando City. The result pushed the red to the top of the table and left the lions, like Seattle, just one point below the red line.

Philadelphia's victory over the Columbus Crew didn't really affect anything in the Eastern Standings, but it did drop the 2015 MLS Cup runner-ups to under 1 PPG.

The LA Galaxy are now winless in their last 5, after drawing the Chicago Fire by a score of 2-2. The Chicago Fire probably should have won the match, but Luis Solignac made the effort to make recent Valdez misses look completely reasonable by comparison.

FC Dallas has maintained their spot at the top of their CCL group after earning a draw against Real Estelí in Nicaragua.

Finally, the last match of the night had the most direct relevance to Seattle. The San Jose Earthquakes played to a scoreless draw against the New England Revolution to end the day back ahead of Seattle by one point.

MLS News

NYCFC is preparing for a reunion with their former coach as they are set to face the face Jason Kreis-led Orlando City this weekend.

In the wake of recent accusations of homophobic slurs form Robbie Rogersthe USL has taken the action of suspending Orange County Blues player Richard Chaplow for two matches. Chaplow has already denied that he is guilty of the offense.

FourFourTwo has posted a fun article which allows you to compare some of the modern MLS team crests to their original counterparts.

USA

Hope Solo's suspension was undoubtedly the biggest news of the day and we have that covered in this story stream.

Of course The Nutmeg News has it's own take on the situation.

Do you agree with SI.com that the appeal of the UEFA Champion's League is dwindling due to the dominance of a small number of clubs?
