There is no doubt that Panama’s National Team loves Roman Torres. During Copa America they called him in as a ceremonial captain. Now, a mere day after being activated from the Disabled List, he will join Panama for their World Cup Qualifiers against Jamaica and Costa Rica.
Panama is currently second in their group to Costa Rica. The top two will advance to the Hexagonal Round.
Five MLS players are on the Panamanian side, including Blaz Perez of Vancouver Whitecaps who will miss his club’s match against New York Red Bulls. No other Panamanian MLS player is missing a club game.
Torres will leave for training in Fort Lauderdale after Sunday’s Seattle Sounders match against Portland Timbers. His return will be prior to the September 10th match at San Jose Earthquakes.
S2’s forward Myron Samuel is also among callups. The St. Vincent and Grenadine forward already left for training with Vincy Heat. Countryman Oalex Anderson has not been announced as a call, yet.
