After the news that Clint Dempsey would not be available for the Seattle Sounders in Sunday's road game against the Portland Timbers after being evaluated by medical staff for an irregular heartbeat, there was plenty of speculation about who would replace him in the lineup.
Alvaro "Flaco" Fernandez ended up being the man to replace Dempsey, as the Sounders are otherwise keeping the same lineup from last weekend's win over Portland. Roman Torres doesn't get the start either, but he is available off the bench for Brian Schmetzer's squad. Substitutes also available: Miller, Scott, Gomez, Fisher, Friberg, Valdez.
