Jordan Morris is back with the USMNT after being left out of the Copa America squad. Morris joins a strike corps that includes Jozy Altidore, Bobby Wood, Rubio Rubin and Chris Wondolowski.
The last time these teams played, Oalex Anderson opened the scoring in the 5th minute and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines briefly held a 0-1 lead in Busch Stadium in Saint Louis. The USMNT quickly equalized off a Bobby Wood 11th minute goal and in the end it was USMNT 6-1 SVG.
The USMNT will advance to the final round of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying (The Hex) with a win today and a Trinidad and Tobago win over Guatemala. Any other result will mean Tuesday's game against Trinidad and Tobago in Jacksonville will see USMNT's World Cup aspirations on the line. Currently T&T has 10 points, USMNT is on 7 points, Guatemala is on 6 points and SVG has yet to earn a point.
So what's the deal with the 12:30 kickoff you might ask? This game is being played in Saint Vincent where it will be a 3:30 local time kickoff. The field is known as the Playing Fields and its primary function is as a cricket pitch. The reason for the early kickoff is that there are no floodlights. As for the game being on beIN Sports, each confederation is responsible for selling their home TV rights. beIN Sports bought almost the entire inventory of Caribbean and Central American TV rights. It was only as recently as 2009 that the USMNT clinched their World Cup berth while playing on closed circuit television with a win in Honduras. Tuesday's final game of this round of World Cup qualifying will be on FS1.
Only DeAndre Yedlin, Geoff Cameron and Michael Bradley have played all 360 minutes available in this portion of World Cup Qualifying for the USMNT. Expect Yedlin and Cameron to feature today but the captain, Michael Bradley, is suspended for today's match due to yellow card accumulation. Michael Orozco is also suspended due to the red card he picked up in the Copa America third place match.
