For a second straight year, women players are being included in EA Sports’ FIFA and once again Megan Rapinoe has been rated as the second best women’s player overall. Rapinoe actually got a one-point bump from last year’s game, earning herself a 91. She was also given a “five-star” weak foot, which she also received last year.
Rapinoe is also the second best American player on the game, coming in one point behind Carli Lloyd, who was also the top player in FIFA 16.
Rapinoe is the only Seattle Reign player to make the Top 20. Hope Solo was the No. 8 player — and top goalkeeper — in FIFA 16, but apparently got a significant rating drop. That followed an overall trend for the United States women’s national team, which has six players in the Top 20, but only three in the Top 10. A year ago, the USWNT had 10 players in the Top 20, six in the Top 10 and all three of the top spots.
