Victor Mansaray makes latest US U-20 roster

If he makes Tab Ramos’ final roster, he’ll head to Costa Rica next month for the CONCACAF Championship

US Soccer announced on Tuesday that U-20 coach Tab Ramos had made his 24-player camp roster decisions ahead of U-20 2017 World Cup qualifying. Seattle Sounders forward Victor Mansaray was included on that roster, and will join the team for an 11-day camp in Orlando.

After final roster decisions are made — and the squad is narrowed to 20 players — the team will go to Costa Rica for the CONCACAF U-20 Championships next month. Four of the 12 teams will be sent to the World Cup in South Korea in May.

Per the US Soccer release, Ramos said, “Our objective for this camp is to continue our preparation for the U-20 World Cup qualifiers. After having a fitness camp followed by a camp with a combination of fitness and local games, now we are looking to get into game rhythm and select the final roster.”

Mansaray, Seattle’s only player on the roster, has eight career caps for the U-20s and two goals.
