Brad Evans will not play again in 2017 and may have made his final appearance for the Seattle Sounders. After not suiting up since Aug. 5, the decision was made to focus on a 2018 return, Evans recently told Prost Amerika.
Although his back injury had previously been reported by Sounder at Heart about a month ago, Evans had been holding out some hope he would be able to return this season. But with just one game left before the playoffs, any hopes of being able to be match fit were likely deemed unrealistic.

Various injuries — all apparently related to the herniated disk he had a procedure to repair -- have limited him to just 11 appearances and six starts this season. The Sounders went 5-0-1 in his starts, allowing just five goals and registering four shutouts in those six games.
The Sounders seem to have left the door open for a return, but Evans will be a free agent following this season and it’s unclear what kind of role he’d have here.
