This two-leg aggregate goal series starts in BBVA Compass Stadium, Houston, Texas shortly after 6:30 PM on a Tuesday night. Nine days later at CenturyLink Field, Seattle, Washington, leg two will decide who advances to MLS Cup.

Under Wilmer Cabrera, the Dynamo are a more fluid, countering team than the Kinnear versions of Houston. They were particularly potent countering down the wings against Seattle in their win at home. Will Bruin got revenge in Seattle’s home game during the regular season.

Absences: Injury, international duty and suspension

Seattle: Brad Evans and Osvaldo Alonso are out. Jordan Morris is questionable.

Houston: A.J. DeLaGarza is out injured. Tyler Deric is suspended due to domestic violence allegations.

The list of players that could miss leg two with a yellow in leg one is long. Sounders Cristian Roldan, Nicolas Lodeiro, and Roman Torres are in danger. Dynamo players Adolfo Machado, Philippe Senderos, Ricardo Clark, Alberth Elis, Romell Quioto, Alex, and Boniek Garcia are also a single yellow card away from missing the return leg.

Lineups

Sounders are without Stefan Frei, which is new, after he picked up a hamstring strain before leaving Seattle. Victor Rodriguez is on the bench and Jordan Morris didn’t travel.

Houston is starting slightly more defense with Alex, who plays as a CM more often in their 4-3-3, as the left winger. Alberth Elis will match up with Nouhou and Jones for speed on Seattle’s left.
