Clint Dempsey put on quite a show at Stu Holden’s charity soccer match

Dempsey scored a bicycle kick goal and a rabona penalty.

A virtual who’s-who of American soccer royalty helped raise about $300,000 for Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts during Saturday’s Kick In For Houston charity event, but the star of the day appears to have been Clint Dempsey.

By all appearances, Dempsey had the game’s best goal as well as the best penalty in the deciding shootout. His bicycle kick may have been a touch offside, but no one seemed to mind.

He followed that up with a rabona penalty — they were apparently doing the shootout with target netting, which wasn’t enough of a challenge for Dempsey, so he upped the difficulty level himself.

Although $300,000 is obviously quite a lot of money, it’s still a bit short of the goal. You can still donate here.
