It's starting to look likely. Also, lots of 2017 MLS kits to ogle, and can Atlanta United FC stop unwanted chants before they start?

Celebrating Brian Schmetzer is always a good idea in our opinion, and Washington State Legends of Soccer seems to agree. February 28 at the Market Arms in Ballard, you can attend "Brian Schmetzer: This is your life." Friends and past teammates will tell the story of Schmetzer through anecdotes, and you know there have to be some good ones.

Sounders goalkeeper Tyler Miller has stepped ably into goal in the absence of the injured Stefan Frei this preseason. Frei will be back shortly, but Miller says the experience was great. The Sounders site has the interview with the highly-rated young 'keeper.

A former Sounders backup and S2 starting GK has landed at LAFC's USL affiliate. That 'keeper would be Charlie Lyon, and the affiliate would be Orange County FC.

Kit designs are leaking or just being released as the season openers approach, so let's take a look at them. As for official releases, FootyHeadlines has those as well, with Real Salt Lake, San Jose Earthquakes and Orlando City all with updated looks.

DC United's stadium may have passed its last, last, last hurdle after getting approval from the D.C. zoning commission. Audi Field should be ready for United to step on the pitch in June 2018.

Here's a little more background on Fredy Montero's move to the Whitecaps, and how he'll be deployed differently by Carl Robinson.

American Soccer Analysis continues their series of 2017 MLS previews by taking a look at the San Jose Earthquakes, with numbers and graphs and words.

The Atlanta United fan groups are starting from scratch - at least when it comes to this particular club - and Dirty South Soccer says they have a unique opportunity to eliminate hateful chants before they even begin in the fan culture.

Bob Bradley's European walkabout may soon be over. It seems he's seriously considering returning to MLS to take the LAFC coaching job.

John Terry reportedly rejected three offers from MLS teams before sticking with Chelsea -- LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls and Orlando City.

NWSL

Is the future of the NWSL in trouble after a few high-profile stars made the jump to other leagues? Nope, says FourFourTwo, the success of the league goes deeper than that.

The groundwork of NWSL academy affiliates expanding player development on the Women's side continues, as Sky Blue FC announced a major new partnership.

Terrence Boyd turned down a move to New York Red Bulls in the transfer window, and now he has scored his first Bundesliga goal for Darmstadt.
