Establishing fitness will be the focus for the first eleven in today’s lineup. Brian Schmetzer expects to use his starters for 45 to 60 minutes. That means more time for Clint Dempsey, Nicolas Lodeiro, Alvaro Fernandez and Will Bruin to establish an understanding. Dempsey will only play the first half.

The back seven see only a couple changes. Out are Oduro, Jones and Agbossoumonde. Replacing them are Nouhou Tolo, Brian Nana-Sinkham and Roman Torres.
Today’s scrimmage is against the San Jose Earthquakes. Their lineup features familiar names and new talent trying to get the Quakes back into the playoffs.

Bingham; Francis, Jungwirth, Bernardez, Lima; Salinas, Ceren, Alashe, Thompson; Wondolowski, Hoesen.
Steve Zakuani is on the bench, again. If he makes an appearance it will be in the second half. There’s plenty of reason for this game to be your second screen at work today.
