Seattle Reign midfielder Megan Rapinoe is back with the US Women’s national team. Jill Ellis called in Rapinoe for a pair of friendlies against Russia on April 6 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, TX and April 9 at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, TX.

She is the lone Reign player called to the 24-player roster.

Rapinoe was last with the national team during their January camp and prior to that she was part of the roster for the 2016 Rio Olympics, though she clearly wasn’t fully healed from her torn ACL she suffered in December 2015.

She did make five appearances for the Reign last season where she scored one goal and assisted on one other.

Rapinoe will be back in time for the Reign’s season opening game against Sky Blue FC on Saturday April 15. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm PT.
