Kickoff will be at 5:00 p.m. on the Saturday, roughly a week before the tournament starts. Mexico’s first tournament match is July 9 in San Diego against El Salvador. They play Ghana in Houston three days prior to the friendly, which closes a June in which they’ll also play the FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.
Meixco’s Gold Cup squad will likely be a mix of players from the Confederations Cup, World Cup Qualifying, and players trying to lay claim to a spot on the 2018 World Cup roster. The squad for the friendly will have played together almost as much as a club team by the time they arrive in the Northwest.
Sounders season ticket members can buy tickets immediately (12:00 p.m., April 11) while general sales start a week later on April 18.
