Major Link Soccer: John Terry isn't coming to MLS

New, 6 comments

No one in the league wanted to listen to Jurgen. The BVB terror attack suspicions shifted from ISIS to the far-right. There's great soccer on TV today.

Kitsap, who aren't the Pumas this year, signed a trio of players.

MLS

The league didn't care for Jurgen Klinsmann's advice.

Former U.S. assistant coach Andi Herzog says Major League Soccer had no interest in listening to advice from Jurgen Klinsmann when he was in charge of the national team, saying league officials "thought he was just criticizing everything."

New York Red Bulls tried to reinvent their Academy structure, but instead it may be stuck in neutral.

USA

USWNT starlet Mal Pugh is leaving UCLA, where she never played a competitive game. Already a regular with the national team her future is now up in the air.

It wouldn't be lower division soccer without multiple leagues competing for sanctioning at every level. There are currently two leagues at the Division 2 level. Two organizations are trying to fill the hole at Division 3. USL is one of those and an upstart league growing out of the NPSL wants to be the other. Of course there are rumors that this might mean pro/rel between NASL and this new league. Of course, the NASL and NPSL could have done that already, and did not.

Attendance for the non-developmental pro teams in D2 is strong.

World

At the end of the 2016-17 season Chelsea will no longer have long-time captain John Terry. No MLS teams are interested in the aging defender.

The terrorist attack on BVB Dortmund's bus was seconds away from being much worse. Suspicion now rests on far right elements rather than initial fears of Islamic extremism tied to daesh.
