Tonight’s game is the first in a stretch of 3 games in 8 days. The first two are at Starfire, so there is a good chance we see some squad rotation that includes several Academy players. It will also be a great opportunity for S2 players in the ascendency, like Ray Saari and David Olsen, to solidify their claims as ones for the future. Real Monarchs SLC will offer S2 a challenging start to their busy week.
The Monarchs have the most potent attack of any team S2 has faced this year, having averaged a goal every 36 minutes. The whole team will need to be prepared to defend. S2 have run into a bit of luck as SLC’s main creator, Charlie Adams (who leads the league with 16 chances created) received a second yellow in stoppage time during their last league match and is suspended for this one. Andrew Brody and Sebastian Velasquez will be the players tasked with replacing Adams’ creativity.
