Despite coming into this match with a bit of a shuffled lineup, the Sounders have dominated the match from the minute the whistle blew for kickoff. They finally broke the deadlock after a 14-pass sequence ended with Nicolas Lodeiro crossing to Clint Dempsey at the top of the six-yard box. Some poor marking allowed Dempsey to head the ball down and into the back of the net.
