MLS is once again eliminated from the CONCACAF Champions League. With FC Dallas falling on Tuesday and the Vancouver Whitecaps falling last night, it will be a Liga MX team winning the tournament once more.

Although there is obvious progress for MLS, it's hard not to argue that the league still lags behind Mexican league.


The results of the vote in St. Louis apparently do not concern those hoping for San Diego expansion. The polls and public support appear to be positive, although it is several months before their vote will occur.

It is more true than ever before, that the expansion clubs that will be successful are largely the ones that are willing to spend the money on all aspects of the team.

The most surprising thing to me in this article on the status of David Beckham's expansion to Miami is the revelation that this has apparently only been going on for 3 years. Seems like it's been longer.

After being told that their team will be playing on the newest artificial turf that is way better than that stuff in Seattle, Atlanta fans will have to settle for seeing their team play on exactly the same surface.


The US Women have finally come to an agreement with US Soccer. The new CBA provides a "significant" increase to player compensation.

The team will celebrate the agreement tonight with a match against Russia to be aired at 5:30 on FS1.


Finally, you probably remember Brazilian side Chapecoense and the horrible plane crash late last year. On Tuesday night, they had their first match against the team that they had been scheduled to play on that trip. It was certainly an emotional night all around.
