The days of snatching draws or victories with late heroics in front of Sporting Kansas City’s fans seem very far away right now. The Seattle Sounders found another way to lose by multiple goals while playing quite well for the majority of a match.
We saw a reduced lineup Wednesday, with Joevin Jones (suspension), Clint Dempsey (rest) and Osvaldo Alonso (injury/rest) sitting this match out. Instead, Gustav Svensson and Álvaro Fernandez stepped into the midfield, and Will Bruin played striker with Jordan Morris on the left. At least for the first half.
How did they do? You know, besides “Bad.” We need reasonably specific number values here. You know what to do.
