Major Link Soccer: Cristiano Ronaldo is just too good for us

Parts of Mukilteo lost power yesterday and impacted my drive to the Mariners game because of a small plane crash. The fireball looks crazy, and a near miss of a gas station is incredibly lucky. As bad as it looks, no one was injured and everyone just walked away from it.

Since retiring (twice) from the NBA, Brandon Roy has been doing great things, including coaching Nathan Hale high school to an undefeated season last year. Right now, though, we all are just wishing him a speedy recovery after he was injured in a shooting over the weekend. He was just a bystander trying to protect nearby children.

Isaiah Thomas has already entrenched himself as a great basketball player from the Seattle area, but now he’s digging into an arguably deeper and better list of legends, Boston Celtics playoff legends.

A major restaurant that I still haven’t eaten at (this is normal) won a James Beard award and, from what I’ve heard, Canlis definitely deserved it.

Name a Mexican National teamer that fell out of favor in Europe and you’ve named an MLS target -now it’s the rebounding Carlos Vela. Teams have looked there before, but this time it appears to be the big guns - LA Galaxy and LAFC. Seattle should too.

MLS’ Matt Doyle breaks down what moves need to happen prior to the window closing on Monday the 8th. shocker he thinks Seattle doesn’t really need to do anything, and that they’ll make their move in the summer.

St. Petersburg to MLS got a boon when voters overwhelming approved giving them Al Lang Stadium in a lease and the ability to expand it. Though MLS wasn’t as excited with their statement as bid leader, Bill Edwards, they aren’t not excited.

Chicago Fire players made the long trip up from Bridgeview for a first pitch ceremony at Wrigley Field with Bastian Schweinsteiger. They even sang Take Me Out to the Ballgame during the 7th inning stretch. Let’s just say the reception was warmer than Mitch Trubisky’s.

Sounders had a great comeback, but going down 3-nil to start kind of hurt their power rankings shot.

For some people baseball is life, for others it is the afterlife, too. A man is going around the country pouring some of his friend’s ashes down toilets at baseball stadiums. Trust me, it makes symbolic sense.

Cristiano Ronaldo is good, like accurate-looking-bust-in-an-airport good (as opposed to inaccurate bust good as he was at). His hat trick against Atletico Madrid sealed that.

Before Ronaldo stole the spotlight, because duh, Real’s fans unveiled a pretty sweet tifo, which even Atleti fans should respect (me included).

Chelsea is on the growing list of London clubs changing stadiums, but how long it’ll take to be in their new one just hit a snag, as it may take another year or two before they can move in.

One player that never will get to play at Chelsea’s new stadium is Francesco Totti, who announced his 25th anniversary gold boots just before announcing retirement.
