Major Link Soccer: Five München 1860 teams relegated

Toronto FC is the defending champion of Canada, and they bounced back from a disappointing first leg to advance to Canadian Championship Final for a second straight year.

The Houston Dynamo dominated Real Salt Lake on Wednesday, and now find themselves at the top of the West Standings.

In that dominating win over Real Salt Lake, Houston’s Alex made his 100th MLS start and led the way in the rout.

Orlando City SC finally won a game in the month of May when they defeated D.C. United 2-0 on Wednesday to end their six game winless slide. Afterwards, head coach Jason Kreis and several Orlando players praised Cyle Larin's after his goal and hard-nosed performance.

It looks like the San Jose Earthquakes have a new president. They named former Arsenal and Aston Villa executive Tom Fax as their new president. Former president Dave Kaval will now focus his energy on the Oakland Athletics and consoling families affected by marijuana overdose deaths.

Everybody loves a good underdog story, right? Well, I got one for you right here. Christos FC, the liquor store-sponsored amateur club, won their game Wednesday and will now move on to face D.C. United in the fourth round.

A Sebastian Dalgaard brace sparked a St. Louis win over the Michigan Bucks. Their reward? A fourth round matchup against the Chicago Fire on St. Louis’ home field in Missouri.

Sacramento Republic are moving on to the fourth round of the US Open Cup after defeating Reno 1868 FC 2-0. The will host Real Salt Lake next.

Over the next few weeks, Seattle Sounders FC’s Clint Dempsey could surpass US Soccer’s all-time leading scorer, Landon Donovan. Dempsey says that he and Donovan have never talked about the record.

One of these days, we may finally see another MLS team in Miami. Miami-Dade have unveiled David Beckham’s stadium deal, and it looks like this one might actually go through (that design looks pretty good, too).

We all know that the US Men’s national team have been training the last few days in Denver. The Burgundy Wave were kind enough to share a photo gallery of day three. Wednesday was their last day in Denver until next week.


It has not been a good last few years for München 1860. Their first team was relegated to the 3rd Liga this year, and it gets worse: all five of their teams were relegated on the same day.
