There are plenty of reasons to get to SoDo hours before kickoff this Sunday. When Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers meet the game pulls in an extra dozen thousand or more people. But, as usual, traffic will be a concern. There’s good news though, both the team and ECS have planned extra events throughout the afternoon.
Leave early, traffic will suck
Another busy weekend in the Seattle area. Make sure you leave yourself lots of extra time to get to your destination! ⚽️ ⛳️ pic.twitter.com/L36iRIcjCC

Yes, that says that 520 is closed all weekend. It also says that I-5 from 405 to Duwamish is only 2 lanes.
Bremerton to Seattle ferries are running on reduced power so you cannot take the 5:30 PM boat and make the game.
The Storm play at Key Arena, with a 6 PM start.
Plus, this will be the most attended Sounders game of the year. Expect to pay a bit more for parking and/or spend more time using transit.
Emerald City Supporters Block Party
ECS and Fuel are having an outdoor block party starting at 1:30 PM. Kasey Keller will be a guest bartender during the event. ECS will also have a merch booth that includes previous years’ scarves and tifo that was repurposed into nifty stuff.
You didn't NEED another reason to attend the Brougham Block Party on Sunday, but now you have one. These one-of-a-kind...

March to the Match OR Collect Sounders trading cards
The March to the Match starts at 5:30 PM, with ECS leading the way. Blue Wave Band will play Occidental Park starting at 4:00 PM. Every match against Portland the March is just a bit bigger, just a bit more energetic.
But the Seattle Sounders are giving the first 20,000 people in CenturyLink Field trading cards of 10 players. This will mean you have to make choices.
Once in the stadium
There will be throwback flags and markings, as well as video graphics. You can also pick up your replica MLS Cup ring, but expect a long line. The “local market” part of the food program is fully operational this week as well.
